I look like a total dweeb. With the arms of a Neanderthal.

But I still am amused by this picture Scott took while playing with 24mm..

So I saw an ad for Macy’s having a bedding sale.  And I’m a sucker for a sale when they are really SALES.  And I still want to buy some new bedding for the bed in the apartment.. So I might go buying something today.

(No, I haven’t forgotten that I’m going to go shopping with sunseenli and oshidori — this would be in addition to what I find with them. Yay shopping!)

Google takes on Windows with Chrome OS - CNN.com

…  So I’ve said this several times, I’m not even the only one.  Google is Skynet, Alpha Release.

Look at their products.  They dominate search engines, which is a cornerstone of information, and information is power.

They already (with a handy little submission from you) track your location 24/7.  (Google Latitude)

They are cataloging all human knowledge bit by bit.  (Book cataloging and digitizing)

Their computers help you shop, eat, sleep, read, and I’m sure they’d help you breathe.  They modify your social life and they alter your perception of the world.  There are already sites where people “explore and travel” using Google Mapview and Google Earth.

They have applets for almost everything, they manage your calendar and read your email.

And now they are talking of releasing an operating system that will emphasize Cloud Computing and other such centralized initiatives.

They’re Skynet.  We’re doomed.  Once there’s google controlled robots we will be exterminated like the archiac tools we are.  ^_^;;;;

A New (Old) Toy

Getting myself back into the mood to shoot. Spent the first few hours home tonight shooting quick snapshots of old 35mm photos (to be posted shortly..)

Also found this gem in my archive boxes yesterday at my parent’s place — its a 1970’s manual camera that’s built like a tank and actually worth some cash. Its got a 50mm f1.4 prime that I look forward to testing with some slide film, maybe at Otakon..

Quickie composition on my tabletop with available light — kinda like this. I think its going to become an icon.

I have a treat I’m working on, a flashback from 1999….

Heavy snoring can be a danger sign - CNN.com

I’m not making fun of anyone.  This is a reminder to several people including myself to take the whole snoring thing seriously.  I was already familiar with the studies involving sleep apnea — this is just a wake up call (no pun intended) to not dismiss them.

Several people have crossposted the re-shoot version of this original take. See, we were in the woods yesterday, lightpainting. I said to everyone, “I want to stage a murder!” Ollie was brave enough to agree to be my victim.

(I’m tired of being the victim. I wanted to be the madman for once.

Anyhow, this was the first take, and we decided to reshoot it. That came out great, but I kind of like this one too. Its alot more subtle with the beam of light, and since the lighting was still fresh it looks a tiny bit less staged…

Anyhow, big points to Scott Arg for having fun with lightpainting, and letting me and others just have fun for once. Its nice to NOT be behind the camera occasionally! XD
